Survive Knives GSO Fastener Question

Does anyone know what the fasteners are called that Guy uses on his Survive Knives GSO series of knives? I would like to buy some similar fasteners in order to attach custom scales to my GSO's. I need different lengths depending on the material used for the scales. I can't seem to find the answer on the web.

Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I do not know what they are called. I do know that Guy has modified the length of the screws used in these fasteners, making the middle one longer, I think. So you might have some luck getting what you want from Guy. Conversely, he might be able to provide you with the proper company making the fasteners to get what you need. I just don't know what the proper name is for these fasteners.

I've actually bought some handle fasteners before , but not from Survive . I "think" they are just called handle fasteners , but the best place to check would be in the "knife makers" section and ask there . They will certainly know where to get all sorts .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

They look like a modified slotted Chicago Screw. Not sure where you would get them. As mike said, the knife makers section could probably help.

You might just call Survive! and see if they will sell you some out of their supply, or give you the name of the supplier that the company uses.

Otherwise, there are lots of companies that sell a variety of fasteners -- screws, bolts and rivets -- in various styles, sizes and lengths. For example:

Aha!!! USAknifemaker has them. They are called "Chain Ring Bolts". You buy male and female just like Chicago screws. PERFECT!!!
I knew I would find the answer here. Everyone does.

The ones Guy uses are fine, I just needed to shorten them a bit when I put custom scales on my GSO 4.1. Next is new scales for the 5.1 and I wanted to buy some different sizes to accomodate what I want with the custom scales I'm doing.

Thanks to eveyone and especially Twindog for the link.

On to USK.com for another order. Seems like I order from them every day. LOL
