I've been buying, trading, using, modding, and collecting the GSO series and suddenly it seems like demand has gone down quite a bit. I guess everyone has what they want or need except what hasn't been built yet. Back a month or two ago, a GSO 10 would sell in a minute or two at $300.00 +.
Now they sit at any price over 300 and a few sit at prices under 300.
I'm not here to make money. I do that elsewhere, locally, online, and feebay.

I'm just curious why the secondary market seems to have slowed down and/or dried up? I finally found a GSO 7/7 and paid handsomely for it so I could put my hands on it. It turns out it wasn't for me and I would like to get out of it for other blades - Who hasn't done that here :D.
No takers and I even listed it at a loss.
I don't care about the money becasue it's a few dollars but I don't want to give it away if that makes sense.
IS there a new holy grail out there I haven't heard about yet? I want one!!!!

It happens to every manufacturer. Trust me, with the new handle designs they have coming they will me more appealing lol.

Have you seen the new handles? Allowed to share. I'm still waiting on my 3.5 in CPM-20V (tackle box knife) and I'm ready to see some new stuff from Guy. :D

I believe it's because they're going to become available at retail prices in the near future and people can't justify paying more...

No idea what is going on. What I will say is that when things are out of stock, people with cash burning a hole in their pocket will usually buy something else. Impulse buying is like that. The economy is hard at the moment for a lot of people that are not lucky to be collecting some sort of pension, trust fund, or have hundreds or thousands to spend on trinkets. So price increases don't necessarily equate to any added value but added expense.

Difficulty keeping up with demand has maybe hurt them a bit. Seems like demand is still high however for the 4.1 and especially the 3.5 series.

I think it is a great product. I had a 4.1 in S90v and now have a 3.5 in 20cv.
Perhaps Guy's video of the 4.1 in 3v turned most of the folks on. tremendous video, IMO.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't aware that the S7 was a tougher steel. I ordered a 3.5 in CPM-20V for my tackle box. 20 days or so and still waiting but no problem for me. I have one of the old 4.1's in M390 and it's my go to all around camp knife. Use the 5.1 for processing large game and other chores in the woods. I'm curious to see what new handles come out since I modded a few new G10 scales for my own 4.1 and the 10. I ordered the 3.5 with Ghost Jade G10 which is exactly what I made for my 4.1

RevDevil, to your point, I'm in Texas and the economy is good here and people are spending money. I forget sometimes that we're the red headed stepchild in the country when it comes to that.

All good reasons to keep the ones I have even though I paid high prices in the secondary market. I just wanted to buy some other blades and have a lot of GSO's. Great input and I'm definitely a supporter of Survive! and the whole team Guy has over there. Great group of folks.

Some of us discover other brands because Survive is almost always out of stock of the GSO models.A Survive machete in S7 would be a neat concept.Other than a machete I have no interest in S7 as I would prefer 3V steel for a large fixed blade and stainless for a 5 inch or smaller fixed blade.I think Survive needs to have some highly desirable items in stock on a regular basis.I saw the OP's knives on the exchange and passed. The colors he had would not have been my first choice. Some people may want to choose their own handle colors/type, steel, and sheath color.Myself, I can wait for the exact combo that I desire instead of pulling the trigger and settling for a combo that would not be my favorite choice.

It's very hard to make, much less sustain such a massive initial impact on such a limited/saturated market. This company burst on the scene with a huge "bang!" and has weathered some fairly serious storms and controversy quite well. It's pretty clear to me that Guy knows what he's doing, and he's getting smarter as he goes along. (full disclosure: I do not know Guy personally, and I'm pretty sure he's never heard of me. I don't even own one of his knives.)

If I were a collector, a customer or an investor, I wouldn't freak out too much over what's going on this week or even this quarter... keep an eye on Survive! stuff over the next year or two. I suspect their knives/company will do pretty well, both in direct sales and the aftermarket.

I got a 7/7 off the exchange. I found that it was not for me so I quickly sold it for what I paid. After that, I sort of lost interest in the Survive! line. I have all my knife size ranges filled, sometimes more than once over, so I am not in need to fill a roll anywhere. Plus, after not being WOWed by the 7/7 I am not as interested in taking a risk on another GSO to bump one of my current blades out of rotation. Maybe down the line if I get bored with my line up I will try another Survive! but for now, and considering their price, I am not as interested as when they first came out...

The shine sure has worn off. Just the thread alone turns me away. I had one of the early models and it was ok. It has moved on since.
One of my concerns is the fact that they are selling 2nds and I think the mark is under the scales that denotes it as a 2nd. Guess buyer beware.

I have 2 4.1's and another on the way. One is a second and all of them are shaving sharp and have a great feel.

The larger sizes have no appeal to me and the 3.5 is too close to the 4.1 so I don't expect to own any more. I think they are a great product though....

I still want a 4.1 in something other than 3v but i cant find them and dont want to pay factory price unless its from the factory

I got lucky when my first S!K wasa 4.1 in M390. One of my favorite camp knives. I would love to have one in CPM-20V.

I'm fortunate that I purchased last Summer when things were running smoothly with the company, I received a July 4th discount Guy ran, making the M390 4.1 $185.00 and a spare set of orange scales less then $19.00 and I received everything 7 days after remitting payment.
Spoke to Guy and a young Woman a few times on the phone, both were friendly and professional.

I bought 2 of the 4.1s, one in M390 one in 3v, both from the exchange at a bit of a premium. They were completely worth it to me, however am not in the market for another simply because I don't need another one.
