I just recently noticed survive knives. They seem to be well built no nonsense blades. Anyone got experience with them? How do they compare to an Esee?

I have been following the survive threads and think I am going to give them a try.
Guy is using great steel and material on some really good designs at fair prices.
He has been working with the heat treat to get the best performance out of the steel.
I'm going to place an order on the GSO 4.1 before the cut off date on the 18th.

I have two on order, a 10 and 4.1, they're a little more expensive but the steel upgrade you get would be more than worth it. (M390, Elmax, 3V, etc) as long as you don't mind the sharpening of super steels (on the plus side, you won't have to sharpen near as often)

They even offer a bow drill divot, thats actually kind of sweet. Thanks for the heads up, hadn't heard of these guys before

Ive got a GSO-4.1 on pre-order and wish I could afford more!

Esee is top quality for 1095. I've ordered a GSO4.1 and all of the Survive! knives seem like top quality but I have not handled them yet. In my opinion the real difference comes down to how you like 1095 and Esee's warranty compared to a more costly knife in a "super steel" without Esee's "go ahead and abuse our knives" warranty. The survive knives are not coated and I've been lead to believe that even the ones that aren't stainless are more corrosion resistant than 1095. I have not gotten to play with m390 yet, the gso4.1 will be my first experience with it but I'm guessing that 1095 is going to be easier to touch up.

Not many people have experience of them cos there aren't many in existence to date, but the early reviews are very promising.

If you are even vaguely interested, get on the 4.1 pre-order while it is still around. If you don't like it, you will be able to sell it probably at a profit afterwards.

They are no-nonsense designs like ESEE, but in much better steel.
