Suryabenai - Where is it?

Greetings Forumites,

Suryabenai or more correctly, Surja Binayak, is a small town a few kilometres south, southeast of Bhaktapur which itself is east of Kathmandu.

Why? This email I received from Uncle Bill explains this:

Hello Harry:

You are exactly correct and please post this. The kamis are illiterate and misprounouce it. Out of respect for them I always stick with their mispronounciation. Please post this, too!

In my own crippled translation the name means "Sunshine Place."

I am amazed that you discovered this.

Blessings from "Suryabenai."

Didi Bill

How I figured this out was deductive reasoning. Having access to a detailed atlas helped as well as knowing that this would have to be easily accessible from Kathmandu and previous experience with similar situations gave me confidence that similar circumstances were in place here.

Harry
