Sus scrofa in the wild!

Cool, just noticed the first sus scrofa up on that auction site. I have to say that it looks pretty good.

The blade shape is growing on me. Wonder how long before the charges start showing up on the card! :) (Yeah yeah, two weeks! :p)

Did anyone here handle them at knob creek? Does it feel like a meaner street in the hand? And yes, before you ask, I am trying to live vicariously through those who went to the show! :D
 
I handled one at the show and I really liked how it felt. I would have loved to bring it home but it wasn't to be.

Hopefully Barb will stop by and post as she picked up a beauty with Pumpkin handles.

Cool! I would love to see more photos of one up close and in the wild like that. We'll keep this near the top and keep our fingers crossed! :D
 
i couldn't pull the trigger on it at the show (knowing I had a couple on order already...) There were just too many Leaners and variants of leaners there.

But the scrofa is going to be a hit. It's a little larger than i expected - significantly larger than the leaner/meaners.
 
Sweet. Makes me glad I have an LE and two CGs on order. Microscopic order compared to some, but I am happy with it!

Pumpkin Sus Scrofa huh, hoping to see one of those. Glad I'll be getting my Double Cut/Black in two weeks ... or so. ;) Should have ordered an LE in addition to it though. :(

Interesting. I noticed that the one in the pictures (black with red handles) seemed to be MUCH larger than the AD/MrS that was next to it.

Thanks, I dig it. :thumbup: Did they have any in Satin or DoubleCut? I'm really looking forward to my DoubleCut/Black Micarta ... just wish I had ordered more. :D
 
Yeah, I am starting to wonder if the miniSS is going to turn out to have been a bit of a sleeper blade...

I think you may be right. I'm glad I'm in for at least one (DC, green linen) .....Oh well, there's always the Company Store.

I'm surprised how little curve there is to the blade itself. It looked MUCH more hawk-nosed in the original photos on the website.

Grinducci'ing them into kitchen knives may be more practical than I originally thought. Esp. when making it a nice straight edge you wind up having it angled like a Dozier skinning knife - much more ergonomic when choppin onions on a cutting board. ;)

I wonder when the full size Sus Scrofa is going to come?

It's due along with the ASH-1, AAS and the folder.
