Hiya all...

I have a couple of questions about the SS...

A) Is the non-LE model not a full height grind? I can't tell from the pics, but it looks like it is.

B) Can anyone give me feedback on using their serrated Busse for rope? I'm probably wrong on this, but it looks like the serrations would catch fibers rather than cutting them.

Thanks!

For "B" do you mean because of the squared-off "lugs" between the serrations?

My serrated SMOG is sharp as sin and the serrations make quick work of cord and tubing (garden hose). If the serrations are done like the ones on my SMOG, they work quite well, it they are like the ones on my War Boar or some of the variants I have seen recently, then I would go with the plain edge as I really don't like the serrations on the later. It seems at though the serration must be ground at a fairly acute angle (I think that is right) for them to be really sharp. Like those on this blade.

If I get the chance I will do a comparison shot of the serrations. I think the War Boar serrations would serve to rip rather than cut.

Mikey, I mean the serrations themselves... they look too deep, I guess.

Here's the pic from the site:

I can see that they are sharpened all the way, but it looks like cordage could maybe get caught on the edge of the "pit".

Or I could be imagining things... which is why I asked the question. :)

Progunner... thanks!
