After I got my Gold membership I went on a search frenzy to try and find out user opinions of the Sus Scrofa...but... I didn't find any.

I am interested in the Sus Scrofa because I find that a "Wharncliffe" style blade is great for cutting material (leather, card, plastic vinyl...etc)

I have been using this J. Neilson Wharncliffe for material cutting tasks when making sheaths for a while now and it's an excellent knife..

But... I would like to try out some INFI for those same tasks. :)

So... is anyone using their Sus Scrofa enough to be able to say how useful it is?

Or does the hawkbill style blade limit it's usefulness?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't used mine much! My plan is to use it while camping/hiking but I won't be doing much of that until spring rolls around.

There are scrofas in multiple color combos for sale now on the busse company store. www.bussecompanystore.com. Here is the actual ordering page.

Aye... I saw those, but, I wanted to get some user opinions on it before I commit to buy. ;)

The last two Busse knives I bought (A CGBATAC and an FFFBM) had a lot of positive user opinions... and they were not wrong.

Thought I would use the same strategy for my next one. :)

BUY ONE!!!!
At first I didn't like the shape, but now I'm in love with it

I have used my satin/black&tan on lots and lots of soft materials. No cutting I beams or concrete blocks. Love the way that hook catches the material and the INFI does the work.

Good stuff... thanks Chuck. :)

I've actually used my--FEAR IT!!-- pumpkin scrofa for quite a few tasks from slicing up some pork to odd jobs cutting around the house. I like it a lot! :D

All I can say is it likes the taste of my blood and I have the scars on my fingers to prove it....

The Scrofa is a great little knife, it's one of my favorites so far. It packs a good sized, very useful blade in a nice, compact package. I've used mine quite a bit and it has really grown on me. It's very comfortable to hold and use, and it doesn't feel oversized like some of the other Busse's with similar blade lengths- like the BATAC, which only has 1/2" or so more blade, but feels twice as big.

I have used one of my Satin + Blue/Black G-10 SSes for a variety of kitchen duties, and I have found that it excels at slicing things that are otherwise resistant to slicing when using other blade shapes. The Satin + Orange/Black G-10 combination looks very, very nice.

Thanks for the info guys and girls.

I'll go and find myself one.

Lunde...The Blue/Black SS on your photo site looks great!

Just out of curiousity....what are those types 'of things' that you find less resistent to cutting with a SS type blade?

Thanks to all for your opinions and recommendations.

I got myself a Black/Blue Satin SS and I'm impressed with it's cutting performance.

Some photos.

Cheers. :)

I have a satin/ blue black, like the one in the photos above, and it is one of my very favorite knives. If you get one, you will never regret it! It's very well balanced, and cuts like the dickens!

Sweet trio, Soup Monger! I think you'll like that pretty blue Scrofa!! :D
