For kitchen work the SS did just fine - wifey was going to bet much moolah that the knife would fail abysmally - she saved a packet because i pitied her and did not accept her sure failure this time.
I did need to slice all the way through - the hook at the end stops just short of push cutting completely.
Onions - many onions were very summarily dealt with - and I am talking very fine slices followed by equally fine slices at 90degrees thus effectively making very fine little cubes - OH about 1/100 of your fingernail.
Orange peeling went pretty good as also pineapple slicing.
But that any thin knife does pretty well anyway.

The SS did shine when it came to opening pesky plastic packaging. The hook maintained a good grip on the plastic while also making a nice cut - just through the top layer. Very nice very controlled - no chance of things going awry - beautiful.
(phtff - why do they seal them things so darn tight in hard plastic - will the indestructable items inside evaporate?)
...anyway the "usual" knife belly makes going through this hard plastic a dicey proposition - always managing to slice off and aim for some part of my body to impale. Unless one takes a solid stab and punctures through BOTH layers of plastic - rather uncouth if for example there are 2 light bulbs sealed within and one only wants one of them.
The SS does seem to be miles ahead of regular blade shapes in this application.

PS: Did i mention the sheeple seem less afeared of this knife than some of my other knives? It has the look of a kitchen knife/utility knife.
