Who went for 'em?

Seeing as how the Boss Hog is already letting out pics of the SH1 Anniversary, I'm thinking the SS may not be too much longer for the site.

I want to get in an order for at least a couple more in double cut. To be honest, I like the two shown on the site--black G-10 and green linen.

The only question I'm having is whether to get serrations on one, or none, or both. The wharncliff blade shape already makes it a good knife for pull cuts. The serrations might be nice for rope or (if necessary) seat belts. Hmmmmm.....

Serrations are nice but I prefer a blade without them.

I ordered the LE and a DC green linen plain:D

i love the teeth! i ordered an le, and i am going to order a dc/serrated/grn linen.

I'll be saving for the Anniversary knife.....I want to get a couple....or four ;) depending on how much they are (or what I can afford). I've been wanting a light bush knife forever. Something to go on hikes with and not freak sheeple out (like with my Eu-17 Magnum). This one fella practically went running through the bushes. Probably thought: middle of nowhere.....big angry looking guy with big knife....SHIT.....

If you want a good looking knife for pictures and other non-knife use, get the serrations. If you're actually taking one on a chopper, I'd highly recommend getting plain edge and either putting your own serrations on or getting a professional to put them on. The serrations from the BCCS lately have been waaaaaay too deep, defeating the purpose (more acute edge) by grinding all the way up into the primary grind (more obtuse edge). My recent BCCS serrations won't cut tubular nylon or even 550/paracord for that matter, let alone helicopter safety harness material (my circa 2002 serrations are functional though, don't know what's changed since then).

Hmmm, maybe that's some harsh criticism. If you want functional serrations, I'm sure you can get them from Busse, but you'll have to ask specifically that they be functional and not decorational. I plan on putting my own on so I know they're right.

Still haven't pulled the proverbial trigger. Probably won't. I have a mental "need" or purpose for every knife I've bot. I just don't have one for the Thuferin Thuckatash. If I got a blade like that, it'd likely be a spyderco folder.

Maybe one as a boxcutter. But a $260 boxcutter??? Even I can't justify buying that. LOL

But SH-1's??? I'll take a FEW of those bad boys.

DC/Tan Xs 2. One w/ teeth and one w/o. I'm going to give 'em a go in hunting season. I'm feeling a perfect duo for skinning is on the horizon. Once they're here, I have to get Dwayne to make a belt and dual carry sheath for me.

I picked up three Sus Scrofas. An LE (no serrations obviously), one DC with black G-10 with serrations and one DO with Green Linen with serrations. My thought is the SS is an emergency type knife and the serrations will help to cut. Additionally, The SS will be a great camp cooking blade as well. Its all good and personal preference is, well personal preference.

Hey, we all cut a lot of boxes. This $260 boxcutter is a beautiful thing.
I usually avoid serrations but this time I went for it. Seemed to suit.

I wasn't real quick on the SS but I'm starting to get the feeling that this knife may get a lot more use than I'd thought when I first saw it.

A case of the designers being a step ahead of me I suspect.

I talked to the shop today, and added serrations to my DC/GLinen, and asked about what limited ed. # I got. 37 baby! And I was quick.

But heck yeah, I finally got a low #. I might have gotten single digits if I wasn't sitting there staring at the DC/GLinen picture for so long.

I got serrations on mine, I just liked the way it looked and with that blade shape it seems like it would do well around the boat for me. I thought about buying another one for the car.
