I got this one from Chuddy Bear. Great work.

I don't have a kydex, I have one on order, to piggy back on a FBM, should make a good camp combo.

I prefer leather for this blade design for belt carry.

I gotta stick my 2 cents in here. This kydex made by David E. is the best thing since white bread. Push against the hook with your thumb to release the blade, and hook your index finger around it to seat the knife. It is adjustable so it fits like a glove. Perfect sheath.

I'm with Pygmalion on this one. I have the same David E sheath, and it's the bees knees. Only difference is, mine has beefy hex bolts instead of phillips head screws. David makes the most ridiculously overbuilt kydex I've ever seen. He is a real craftsman.

I prefer kydex for smaller blades- just toss it in a pocket or a bag and you're ready to go. The Scrofa really belongs in Kydex, with that wickedly curved blade, it would be all too easy to tear up leather. I have my Scrofa at work with me now- it has replaced my beloved OJ warden as my EDC, at least until my Cultellus shows up. Where is that thing, anyway?

I have two Chuddysheaths like Jimmyjones', and I love them!
Only difference is that mine are for right hand carry.
They are just brilliant.
Leather is my preferred sheath material for medium and small knives,
so I'm not going after kydex for these babies.

Thanks for the superb pics ! They conveyed a lot - you guys do a lot ! There is no way I could have possibly figured this much out by going to shops/whatever else. Pics do convey a lot - esp. well taken ones!

I liked all that I saw - and am basically getting both leather and kydex. If the knife lasts as long as it is supposed to - no harm in many sheaths. It appears that small amounts of "straightening" the edge are not going to wear away the knife profile.

I have a leather sheath coming.

I will also contact David E. and get this Kydex - it is very well designed - might be better for some situations.

e.g. I was opening some cans of motor flush and "stuff" but needed to sheath the knife - kydex would work somewhat - it can be washed heavily is my assumption.

If I leave kydex in the car in summer - will it lose shape?
