Well, I was going to skip this offering and wait for the next one but they got me with the green linen. I kind of wish they had gone full Wharncliffe with the blade instead of the recurve, but oh well. Heres my question. Is the name sus scrofa an acronym, foreign language, drunken gibberish, what? Have I missed the origins of the name in a thread somewhere, or does no one know? Now that I've broken down and ordered two (DC/green, of course) someone please explain the name to me.

It is a Hog/Pig/Wild Boar. First heard this name in Texas.

It's hide looks like the LE's scales.

I noticed a lack of snakeskin handles as an option. Has this happened on a regular model since snakeskin was introduced?

Honestly that is the only reason I bought a LE BATAC. I don't prefer the thick blades on a 5 inch blade but I didn't want a coating. If they had offered a CG BATAC with the DC finish I would not have jumped into the LE price range. Probably pretty smart of them from a marketing standpoint. If this green linen looks like the picture then I think we will all be happy.
