Oopsthis'll likely be moved to the Busse forum. Sorry.
I ordered one of these this morning, my first Busse knife. When I called to confirm my order I asked what on earth a "SUS SCROFA" is.
At the suggestion of the nice lady at Busse I spoke to this morning I attempted to do a little research.
Compliments of Wikipedia . . .
"SUS"
Pigs, also called hogs or swine, are ungulates native to Eurasia collectively grouped under the genus Sus within the Suidae family. The nearest living relatives of the swine family are the peccaries.
Also compliments of Wikipedia . . .
"This is a list of fictional species postulated in the 2003 Animal Planet/ORF and ZDF series The Future Is Wild. The series examined twelve ecosystems at three different distant future times."
From five million years into the future . . .
"SCROFA"
The scrofa is descended from pigs (but are very small by pig standards, only 8-12 inches high) and lives on the remains of Mediterranean islands. They have very narrow legs so they can move quickly and safely climb rocks. They do not appear to be very intelligent and are hunted by the Gryken."
Many of the other animals named might also serve well as names for wild knivescheck it out! Could be a sign of things to come.
