Hi guys. I've got a Ryan Model 1 and an Emerson custom tanto fixed blade on the way to me, and with a little luck they'll be here tomorrow. The wait.....is killing me. Ugh!

Anyway, I was hoping that some of my fellow Suspects might comment about any Ryans that they either own or have handled. If anyone has any good pictures of their Ryans I'd certainly appreciate seeing them. Thanks guys! I'll be sure to post a few pics of my new Emerson and Ryan together as soon as they arrive. :)

Hi Eric, hope that all is cool :) it should be when you've got those nice toys on the way...

I don't own any Ryan knives, yet...
But the looks alone is megacool! if the quality is like the looks then it'd be awesome

Post us some pic's when you've recieved'em.

Which model is the Emerson?

I own a Ryan Model 1 with partially serrated edge. The knife is huge and the pocket clip is pretty much superfluous for this size knife. It is an awesome piece! Steve made the handle material from a Blueish type of material. The Japanese mag Knife had a article on Ryan in the latest issue where he had changed the design of the handle to position the clip on the liner and the handle material was around the clip area. a nice evolutionary change. The quality of my Model 1 is flawless. - Dick

I have a small tanto neck knife and a special lightweight model 7. Based on my folder, Steve needs to spend some more time on QC and customer relations if he wants to go to the next step in his knives. Emerson he's not.

I have a titanium Ryan Kerambit. It is flat wicked. With the Ti and bluish green micarta its visually impressive as well. It is matched with an aluminum trainer that is the same weight and size. It is imperitive to have a good trainer with the Kerambit, or you can end up up with some stiches. I admire Steves work, but I am more geared towards the Emerson and Strider stuff. Most of my friends with heavy martial arts backgrounds seem to go nuts for Ryans work.
