I've had the all black "military one" for a couple years now (negative display). I love it. It's a beautiful watch and I always get compliments on it even from women which is surprisings. I have a small wrist and I'm a little guy and it looks just fine. I find that the altimeter is pretty close to accurate for what is. The temperature is readings are good. I use it 24/7. It is my alarm clock. It has a snooze button which I love. It goes off every five minutes about 3 times before I finally get up. It is easy to operate. I never read the directions and never needed to to set up or even use.
Actually the one I have now is the second. So it's been with me for about 3 months. At 5hr+ mountain bike race, I went down really, really hard toward the end and I DNF'd due to an inoperable bike. I had road rash large enough that I had to drop out for the rest of the early season and just now getting back. I rolled many times and my Core was heavily damaged. The bezel was scraped to hell and the aluminum was exposed. The glass was scratched and even the band had gouges in it. It really sucked. Through the Suunto web site, I requested to send back for repair. It was a painless process. I didn't even have to pay for shipping. Suunto generates a shipping label. I sent it to a repair center in Utah. About a week later, I called to get the status. They said they didn't have any. I was like "huh?". The customer service lady said sorry, we don't have any. Your watch is under warranty and we're getting a shipment next week. I asked, "your sending me a new one?". She said "yes", it should be next week. I thanked her and was really happy, surprised at how good the service was as my watch was thrashed. Any way, I week later I received my new one, direct from Sweden.
I'm planning on getting another one for dress up but those are pricer. I got mine on Ebay by the way.
Go for it, get one!
