Once in a while I come across pictures of Suunto MC-2G compasses with what appears to be UTM corners/grids on the base plate (like the baseplate of the Brunton 15TDCL) instead of the typical map rules. However, I have never seen one in person or for sale.

Has anyone seen these? Are they available in the US?

I've never seen or heard of one like that, mine just has the typical rules.

Thanks guys. I did a little more hunting and it seems that some of the metric models might have a 1:50,000 corner. That is probably what I have seen. Sadly, 1:50,000 corners are not useful to me at all.

Jeff, I have several of the Mini Corners and other goodies from Map Tools. I love that place.

My MC-2G has a 1:50K corner scale (it's also at 1:25k, and two rulers; one 8cm/1mm metric rule on one edge, 3"/20th rule on other), but it's pretty hard to read after years of use.

I usually carry at least one metric W-43 C-Thru scale with me; cheap and easy to read, also has a protractor.
