Hi guys,

Well, although I love my 100 lap Ironman "Flix" watch, I'm just about fed up with it (and it's many predecessors) pooping out on me. Seems like the Ironman buttons are set to fall off just after the time the warranty runs out.

What I really need day to day is a nice, solid, full-featured digital. Thus, the Suunto Observer comes into the picture. It looks solid (metal construction) and it is smaller in size than other Suunto models. Anyone have any experience / advice on this watch?

The features are nice, but I'm also hoping that if I pay 300+ for a digital, that the flippin' buttons will stay on! :)

Thanks for reading.

Jeeves,

Can't speak for that model, but I just recieved a vector. I have been out in the rain and mud playing Army for the past 72hrs - beating the heck out of it, so far so good :)

FYI - did a seach for Observers on Ebay, this is what I came up with - Click Here

Ebay is where I picked up my Vector, at quite a nice discount I may add :)

Jeeves,

If you wanna get a cheaper, reliable, full feature and rugged watches then just consider the Casio Protrek Triple-Sensor Watch with Barometer, Altimeter, Termometer and Digital Compas (plus it tells time and dates too, duh!!). I know that most people will scorn at Casio watches but i for one can vouches for this one cause it has never fail me during my caving, white water rafting, abselling, camping and hiking trips.

Just a tip ..... change the normal plastic resin straps with those G-Shock Nylon straps .... works great !!!!

Sorry can post a pic.

p.s own the watch for 'bout 4 years plus with the button still firmly in place where it should be .... not even loose !!!

oink....oink...Bob
