So I got a good deal on one and couldn't resist, :) Just curious to hear from some "owners", "operators" on what they think of the watch? good or bad?
Suunto seems to have a good rep for CS and warranty.

Be careful in the water.... Do not push the buttons while under water

buy lots of batteries (theyre battery wh**es)....and a couple battery covers (use a coin)

Still rocking my core. No issues so far but I've only had it for about 5 months.

I've got a years old Vector. Only thing that ever happened was physical damage to the case, display and bezel when it was crushed in a cargo door. Suunto repaired it for a really inexpensive charge (<$50 including shipping). Great customer service! I'm getting about a year and a half on a battery.

I'm kinda wondering now if I should have got the CORE??? However the absence of the "bells & whistles" is not really a bad thing for me.

It's a really comfortable, light watch. I was originally going to get the all black (negative display) version but opted for the positive display instead.

Ehhh, Suunto is ok. You would have been much much better off with a G-Shock or Pathfinder though.

Enjoy it. Especially if you got a good price. I have had two Vectors and a Core. I like the looks and comfort of them, but they are not as durable as some of the other watches I have had. The aluminum case X-Lander would presumably be better, though.

The batteries do go relatively fast.

I rock an Observer. I really like it. Solid, looks good and tells time! I get about 2 years to a battery.

So the "head scratcher" is the Alt, I set it to "def" which I suppose is "default"??? it reads that I'm ,90ft? where I am located the Alt is 98m or 312 ft above sea level?
The Barometer reads about 30.00? I don't know if that is 1 atmosphere? and I don't know the pressure at sea level? Lots to learn??
The barometric pressure now is 1029mb

So just an FYI for new users, I'm passed the learning curve,LOL. Once you adjust the units of measure the barometer was "bang on" and then the Alt was easy to adjust to my elevation. Overall I like it alot, well made and once you "get in the groove" of setting the watch, it's all downhill from there. Cheers

Suunto rocks. Great battery life on the ones I have owned (1-2 years for batteries). Never had a single issue. I've got around 3500 skydives on vectors and 500 on my core. Have used in heat, super cold, water, mud, dust, etc. Only issue was when scuba diving with my vector while at 90ft my alt read -29,000ft (Guess I should get a proper dive watch for that ;)), and in freefall the core will freeze up every now and then due to its alti measurement being more sensitive. I'll use Suunto for a long time....

Vector here on my wrist.

This vector in particular has around 2000 skydives on it so far. My beater watch...
