Got this Beauty yesterday from a fellow board member. James Coogler did the custom handles and Tiger striping. The sheath is of course from Leatherhog!! It's an Anaconda inlay. ;) :D :p

Nice one....I also took a shot at that one...but you beat me to it.

I think the PBF are veeery cool - esp when they have a full handle.

Like this one ! :D  ;)

The PBF line is way underrated by most of the new piglets. It's one of the best knife designs Jerry's ever made.

That one is finished beautifully. Congratulations on your score.

I am kicking myself for not getting the whole damn set when they were available on the web site. They were relatively cheap too.

Mines an 8 - and I think stabbers is too.

But I really-really like her! Nice knife stabber!

The PBF is one of the nicest fighter I have ever seen. It would be a tossup between the polished PBF or the Hattori fighter.

Very nice knife!

Mike

How did yours work out? As a camp knife that is?

Rob

Wow. Stabber and Turner, those look awesome. I've got to admit that I'm one of those who just can't seem to appreciate the PBF based on how they look in pics; I've never seen one "live." Those two look awesome though. I'm looking forward to seeing one sometime.

It seems I recall DocAndry had one with some Justin Gingrich grips... Maybe I'll ask him to tote it along to the next Indy 1500.

Thanks Gang. Nice one turner! Your right about it being 8 inches. The second one down in this pic is my Holy Grail PBF!!!!:p

Hey, Rob,

It's worked out great, though I haven't been as rough with it as I should, yet.

First, imagine a knife that has a blade the length of a (original) Satin Jack, and an overall length equal to a Steel Heart E, but only weighs about 11 ounces. Now imagine a design that is sort of like a Satin Jack on steroids. Start with a CG Satin Jack. but then make it 1/4" and sabre ground, to make it much more heavy duty, then give it a much more acute edge to make it a better slicer, then give it pointier point to puncture better, but with a thicker cross section, so that the point is more durable, then give it the most protective guard of any (non d-ring) knife that Jerry has yet made. Add to this a handle that that allows you to grip all the way on the very back end to forward weight the whole thing for a surprisingly powerful chop on a small knife (enhanced by the most acute edge in the Busse line up), which swells to allow for a secure grip, but doesn't have anything protruding to smash your pinkie.

It manages to be a relatively light, small knife which does a wide variety of camp stuff better than most others.

Interesting story about the names of these knives.

The name of the line is ostensibly "Pure Bred Fighter", but the individual knives have no names, except for the smallest one. Originally, Jerry was going to have a contest to name the 6" and the 8", with free knives to go to the winners.

Instead, for various reasons, the knives never went into large scale production, so the knives were, by default, a fairly small production run, and the contests were never held, and the knives were never named.

If I had my way, Jerry will declare for the 6" and the 8" some innocuous names, like "the outdoorsman" or "the mountaineer". I use these knives in the outdoors, and further, I don't think it serves the customers well, in the eventuality that they are used for protection, for the knives to be called "Pure Bred Fighters".

The "outdoorsman" and "moutaineer" sound like a Dozier Knife Not Busse Combat!!:p
