Hi all,

Just went down to the park we have just outside of town to take Kelly Girl for a walk and to feed the ducks and geese and when I got there I noticed this a Suv in the lake and quick took this pic. I have my camera on the strap of my shoulder kit that I keep right beside my right leg infront of the seat. It is kind of a neat leg rest too lol. Ready to grab as I exit my Expedition.

I did not take a pic of the family but it looked like it was a dad mom and kid.
they had just swam to shore when we pulled up. The guy said he was ok and that help was on the way. I pulled up a little way and then took the pic as the ford explore was sinking. then drove around the lake to try and get more pics of all the rest of the action that was going to happen. Here are some more pics. I did not stay around to find out what and how they got into the lake. Once the police and sheriffs people got there and the rest of the rescue personal got there.
In this pic you can see if you look close enough that there is still someone in the water in a blue shirt. One person is on the ground and others are standing around. The police were just getting there.

This pic you I zoomed in on the racks of the suv. Everything else was under water.

Well anyways one moment everything is ok and then in the blink of a eye you could be fighting for your life.

So drive careful out there you all,

Just ran ID Hwy 55 twice this week and someone was in the water. Some nasty rock slides lately too... At 44 degrees it's a wee bit chilly to be hanging out in the North Fork of the Payette River.

Yea I am sure waiting to hear how that happened. I will read all about it in the paper lol.

I have a friend that thought it would be fun one night to back his big Olds (70s style) down the boat ramp at a local lake till the tailpipe was in the water so he could blow bubbles with it, (he was drunk) . The trunk started filling with water and sucked the car right in the lake. He and his son got out OK and took off thru the woods , He said when he looked back all he could see were 2 lights shining up in the sky and then it was gone.

Glad everyone was alright. The driver was probably busy with some "important" texts that couldn't wait.

It's amazing how many people I pass on the highway going 55-60 mph and the moment I pass them, their heads are down looking into their laps.

Saw an old Ford pickup lose its brakes on the boat ramp in Austin,Tx. Damn near took the boat down with it too.The trailer jack-knifed and kept the p.u from going too deep to recover.--KV

Wow, I'm glad everyone was okay. Since it had a happy ending (except for the SUV) the local papers may want your pics of the vehicle going under :D

You were at the right place at the right time if the family's situation had turned south.

Hi all, I just got back from showing the pics to the editor of the local paper, I am the only one that got any pics of the ford in the lake. I was told it was not a family but an attemped suicide by the lady that was driving the ford. The persons I thought was the dad and kid were the two that hoppped out of there truck and swam to get the lady out of her ford suv.

some great comments from you thanks.

Anyways that,s all folks lol.

Damn! I could think of a lot better ways to off yourself than Drowning:thumbdn:

Great pics though:thumbup:

So the Lady, did she get taken to the Hospital for evaluation?

That had to be some chilly waters eh.

Holy Moley! Thank got people were there to help! Will the local publication be using your photos?

Most newspapers are reluctant to cover suicide or attempted suicide extensively, unless there's a compelling public interest. They do this out of courtesy to the victim/family, as well as to avoid sensationalism that can lead to copycats. Not a hard and fast rule, of course, but that's a typical editorial stance.

Hi all,

Yea Nick I hear ya lol. Yes this lady is up in the hospital in Lincoln Ne.
Yes the water was in the 40s to 50s To cold for me lol.

Iboschi, I am not sure about it yet. When I went into the paper today and talked with Vicky she said that is was and attempted suicide:eek:.
I was like Yikes. After I went to the paper and chatted with Vicky and she took the pics I went down to work for a little bit and then found out one of my coworkers said that the lady was friend of hers and that this was the 2nd time she tried it.
This lady needs some prayers. Life can sure get a person to feeling down.

smersh, great comment you said. Thanks for you input. I hope this lady can get some help. You know some times the (3rd time is the charm) so to speak.

Well all, Thanks for the comments and I will chat with you later,

Bryan
