Here is my dad`s old Svea all fixed up. Got some metal polish from my wifes grandma and it buffed up great. Had to make a new cup handle and flame spreader. Handle is from a scrap found in my wifes grandads shop and the flame spreader is an old hydraulic fluid cap. The first cup picture was my first handle attempt, but changed it to mirror the original. It fired up great, from simmer to full bore. Here are the pictures.

New cup handle before and after. Bottom rusty piece was to see how the metal would bend:

All in all a fun project, I am looking forward to using it out and about, maybe for another 30 years.

Hmm ...... I have a 80 vintage Primus stove ..... I am taking it out and cleaning it up ...... something just great about old school.

Great using kit designed to a spec rather than compromised to a marketing budget

Thanx for posting. I really enjoyed the pictures. That kit sure has character :D

Timely thread. I just put my old timer back into the camp stove rotation with a new wire cup handle and a rubber O ring in the fuel cap. No leaks, which is a huge improvement.

I used to love my svea, but now Its in need of some serious TLC. After it lights, It wont go out when I try to cut it off. must be a valve or somthen.
