Happy New Year All!

Over the holidays I began the process of inheriting my fathers firearms. Right now I am still in the registration phase, and should have possession soon. Along with the boom sticks is a RubberMade tote full of reloading equipment: brass, primers, lead, vise and scale. I also found a Svea 123 stove he got in the 70's. It is in not too bad shape, so last night I began the restoration process. I will post the pre-pictures tonight. As far as I can tell I am only missing the flame spreader, cup handle and although not necessary, pump.

So I have a few questions this morning:

Are there some good sources of Svea 123 parts out there?

Is there away to tell if it is a 123 or a 123r?

Also if my membership level allows me to trade or if this is the right place..I have a CRKT Stiff KISS(like new), CRKT M21(like new), and Kershaw Military Boot Knife(sheath marks) I would be willing to trade for some parts. (Please let me know if I need to post this somewhere else.)

I will put up some images tonight.

Thanks

I believe if the valve is at an angle like the above picture it is a 123; if the valve meets the vaporizer at a 90 degree angle it is a 123R. I may be wrong, though.

Here is a good source for parts:

You should probably get a new tank cap, the rubber goes bad over time and if it has been sitting for a number of years it may not seal properly any more.

I have had great luck with these people. They are listed as the on the brunton/svea web site for parts and service.
The owner are Sherlene and I believe Ron . I have delt with both. You may have to try all of the Ph#s because they have recently moved shop but they are definitly still in business. I just bought a couple of flame spreaders from them myself. I believe they were around $15 but dont hold me to that.
You may want to buy two, for some reason they seem to be a commonly lost part. I think the heat makes them worp and pop off or get loose and fall off.
By looking at your picture I think you have the earlier version of the 123. On one the handle points down at an angle (yours) and on the newer one it is 90degrees straight out.
If you talk to sherlene tell her Kirby says Hi.
Good Luck
