Hi folks

I Haven't posted a great deal on this forum but thought I might share my thoughts on a knife I've owned and used for over a year now. It's a Svord deluxe 320BB fixed
blade knife.

I'd been looking for a utility, camping, bushcraft/ skinning knife for a while and settled on this knife after seeing the video posted by Kylie (see below). Hope it's ok to post his vid. i do realise it is him selling the knife but this model has been discontinued.

Sorry I don't have any pictures as my camera and computer aren't talking to each other at the moment!

The knife is full tang, with a 3 3/4 inch blade but it is only just over 2mm thick with a convex edge up to half way up the tang (unlike the Svord peasant which is flat
ground). Its thinness together with a convex edge make it a fantastic slicer. I have an older version with a brass bolster and solid acrylic handle. I believe the acrylic is the same as Victorinox use for their SAK's. I don't mollycoddle this knife and have had no problems so far. Having said that it doesn't get used for prying doors off trains or
felling large trees (I have an axe and crow bar for those tasks), just cutting things. The steel is L6 which I don't know a great deal about besides it being a tool steel.
What I do know is that it takes and keeps a stunning edge and is really easy to maintain. Today is the start of bunny season in my world. I cleaned and dressed 4 rabbits. The edge had slight damage from hitting bone and cutting leg tendons (could have been a touch more careful but was in a hurry to finish and get them in the freezer
before setting off to work this morning!). Five minutes on fine sandpaper and finished with a belt strop and it's back to frightening sharp!

The knife comes in a simple but solid sheath made from 3mm thick leather. The sheath completely encloses the knife with a snap flap and the suede side of the leather is
on the inside. this means when you are taking the knife in and out of the sheath the edge slides over the suede and doesn't cut in (Bark River take note!). Most
importantly the knife is a joy to use. The ergonomics and blade geometry are perfect for me, whether I'm pointing up some green poles or prepping game. Something that
doesn't get mentioned a great deal is the relationship between the angle of the cutting edge and the material to be cut when the knife is in various grips. In that respect, considering its size this knife excels.

Finally, I'm a bit tight with money and I like the idea of a knife that can perform several task well. This one does that. I won't go into costs except to say that I got this
knife imported to the UK from NZ and it still was substantially cheaper than anything comparable in quality from Europe/US.

Voila, will try to post pic's when relations between camera and computer improve!
