svord knife questions

I have been looking for a new traditional hunter, the svord 350b is the best I've found.
I have heard that these knives come with varnish on blades, I will just sand that off with wetordry.
Do the handles come varnished? Does the brass guard varnished?

I am looking at the knife due to the convex grind, l6 steel, 80 dollar price point(at knifeworks, 92 at knifecenter), good sheath, full width and length tang, and 3/32 inch blade thickness.

Please tell me your thoughts, competitive options, and if you could answer some of my questions.
