How does their carbon steel perform? They have few knives I like and might get one day,but was wondering about their steel and heat treat.

Thanx,I like some of their less expensive fixed blades, and was thinking of getting one,but probably am getting kabar becker bk15 first, proven slicey design with 1095cv!Ps.this Svord peasent knife is interesting, might check that out first,I like how simple it is.

If I remember correctly, Svord use 15N20 in their less expensive knives and L6 in the others.

Both are bandsaw or circular saw steels and I think are similar. L6 has better edge retention.

I have had a few Svord Peasant Knives. They need some initial work on the edge but sharpen easily. I go for a convex edge. After cutting cardboard for a bit there is a definite loss in performance but a few seconds with a strop and buffing compound brings it back. Peasants are also very customisable. I highly recommend them (you can't really go wrong for the price).
