i got a svord peasant today and my first impressions are that it is a good knife/friction folder. there are two things i wanted to change: the grinds were uneven and the rest of the blade was left black (raw). i knew about this before i even ordered the knife and it was my plan to finish the blade.

here is the before:

Nice work! I'm glad these are getting some attention. What grits did you work through to get here?

I patina'd one of mine and then polished up the edge. Pics when I get home.

thanks. i used my stones (both diamond and water) to fix/even-out the grind and flatten the tang. after that i use three different ryobi buffing compounds (emery, yellow and white). i rub the sticks right on the blade, apply a drop of mineral oil and buff the blade with pieces of cloth. it took quite a while doing everything by hand.

p.s. i might use some 1000 or 1500 grit sandpaper to try and remove the really fine scratches i couldn't buff out by hand. then i'll use all three compounds to mirror the blade again.
