Hi all,

Wow. 552 pages (as of 1/20/2014) in the GENERAL Knife Discussion section and not a single title/word beginning (per SEARCH) with the word SVORD. That is.....until NOW!
Heck, I don't even own a Svord knife (yet) but I hear very positive comments about these cost effective (made in New Zealand) knives. Like the MORA Knives (Sweden) and OPINEL Knives (France) SVORD appears to represent outstanding value/cost/quality. I plan to acquire a couple of SVORD Peasant knives (one larger and one smaller). I'm told once the blade is sharpened, it's VERY sharp! I know of a guy who works at a well known Knife Shop which carries hundreds of different knives. I must admit I was rather surprised to find out one of this guys EDC is a SVORD Peasant Knife. I also must admit, when I handled this knife, I liked it a lot! Gotta get a couple soon!

Hi Marcinek,

Odd. Something must be up with this Computer. I just clicked on your link and it doesn't work.

Odd.

Svord Peasants are ok. They're inexpensive and the fit and finish shows it. They aren't really pocketable. The L6 is toothy, if you like that. You get a little more than you pay for out of a Svord, but in my opinion not much.

Hi Mar,

Yea. I realize Svord Peasants are made for the likes of folks like me (poor and Peasants) lol. Now, this guy I mentioned (at the Knife Shop) did RE-work his Svord's blade and handle a bit for best performance. I agree that the Svord doesn't look very "pocketable" (at least Pants pockets). Still, I think I should at least buy/own one Svord just for S&G.

Ridiculous, the Svord fits well in pocket, and the steel is great. Gets very sharp with very little effort. I did have to redo the handles, but it didn't take much. Had to do the same thing to my Opinel, and something different, but the same amount of work with my Mora.

I'd like a Peasant but it does look a bit awkward while closed. Might be a neat project to try and add a lock and shorten the protruding tang while closed.

I loved my peasant and wish I hadn't given it away. From what I've seen the grinds can be a bit inconsistent at the edge and the scales could use a bit of work but it is really worth it. I didn't edc mine so I can't comment on pocket carry. the other thing to consider is the long tang means they have signicicant strength.
Buy one, modify it to taste and post a review :)

I've had a couple mini's. They're a great work knife to carry in a belt pouch. They one hand open and close quickly and easily. They're also fun to tinker with.

I wish they made a couple smaller sizes.

I bought a large and a small to check them out and ended up giving the large away here in the forum. They both have bad fit and finish and weren't the sharpest knives but I haven't tried touching it up yet.
