Swabbie as Machete?

I hadn't had any interest in one until I saw the specs were a whopping 12.5" blade length.

Now I have great interest in one. Particularly for use as a Machete. Anybody up there involved with product development or whatnot taken one out and used it for such?

Also noted that it's a full tang with .25" blade thickness, guess that means it could potentially take a beating huh?

*P.S.* any expected street values would be nice, The ZK line printed retail values jumped up considerably in $$$ on the move to America. Listed at $172, even with a 50% drop from that on actual street value, I could buy a JAB Potbelly.

It would be nice to know if retailers are gonna take this price jump to heart or if they'll go in the near $60 range like some other American Kabars.

Kinda feel cheated and sad that they didn't remain overseas for just One more year ;) LOL, I quickly realized after purchasing my Large Heavy Bowie that "Made in Tawian" is NOTHING like "made in China" nor do I have any hangups about the SK5 steel they were using in the ZK line. That's some good stuff..

I have handled both the Swabbie and Zomstro and they are rediculously well designed and balanced. Sure they are large loud and somewhat overkill but I am a dude and well I like overkill. I like America more. They both are like having a pocket chainsaw because of the .250 with a full taper grind. I would attach them to a pack however because they large and belt carry is a bit obtrusive.

I don't mean to rain on your parade but a 12" long 1/4" thick blade is not going to make a very good machete.
