Has anyone ever heard of this firm? The folder was designed by Steve Ryan in California. I ordered one and paid for it via PayPal through www.silentweapons.com. The vendor does not respond to my emails requesting shipping and tracking status. I am getting more than annoyed. This "puppy" cost me $382.00 including shipping. Any thoughts??

I forgot to add that the knife was written up in the 2005 January/February issue of The American Handgunner.

I'm pleased to report that the vendor has processed a complete refund to me via PayPal.

So you didn't want it or they didn't have it? That site is a bit strange showing location as California but asking me to download and install Chinese characters.

It's a shame you couldn't get it, it's a cool looking knife. Judging by the links that are under construction they may just be a new company and don't have all their ducks in a row yet.

I have that one and it is an awesome knife. Meridian Tactical has it in stock or at least did last month. They are the only one I could find online that had it available. Other than having a fake knights armament logo, it is a beautiful knife.

This comes up from time to time. I remember about 2 years ago there was a brief flurry of interest in the original silver model.

The knife was made for Japanese distribution, but I don't remember hearing about something called SWAD. Might be a new group formed to distribute the knives in the US under a more memorable name.

I saw two of these folders in Hong Kong. Due to the year-round high humidity, there were a few rust spots on the beadblasted blades. It might also be because the knife was carried in stores not really accustomed to selling knives and thus their maintenance. They were airsoft or Army surplus stores (a real big hit in certain circles in both Hong Kong and Japan).
