Anyone here ever had a swamp fox knife. I recently saw this brand at a civil war show. The knives looked well built and were priced right. What i am wanting to know is if anybody has used one. Do they hold an edge well? what was your overall view of the knife? was it a good blade for the money? Tim Ridge is the man making them. His blades are made in the forge by hand. He seemed like a good guy. Just would like to know what i am getting before i drop the cash. Times are hard and the cash level is low i really have to make every purchase count. Thanks in advance

Check out his web site at swampfoxknives.com He is nice to work with and does great work. 1095 carbon steel blades. I have one blade of his and it is a keeper! Sometimes the handle may be a little small depending on the size knife and what it is used for, but besides that, great knife and maker! Another maker that I have really enjoyed to that also builds period pieces the old fashioned way is Matt Lesniewski at ML knives. Both makers have an endless variety to choose and drool from!!
