Received some nice trade offers but cash is king. If you still want Resiprene C on SR101, don't delay. I'll probably be kicking myself in the head for letting these go, well, hopefully not. LOL.

You all stink! Consider the Battle Rat sold. I need to go have my head examined.

you won't regret it. I prefer the thru hardened blades, so I think your getting a great deal.

Oh I know I'm getting a great deal. This'll be the 4th Busse-made knife this week. ARRGGHHH!!!!! I hate you all. I came here for info on Busse knives and I keep BUYING THEM!

;)

Cobalt, I was wondering if you could explain why you prefer the through-hardened version of the BR?

sorry, greens, not trying to hijack your thread.

Thru hardened makes for a much stiffer blade and it also allows you to grind the spine and make a swedge in the future if you wish. This is the only reason when getting Swamprats.

However, when getting other brands the reason is that you are not likely to have any high internal stress areas (risers) with a thru hardenned knife whereas a differentially tempered blade can possibly have internal stresses where the hardness changes. This is not an issue with SwampRats because of how they are HT'd, relieves all internal stresses, but I have seen other brands fracture at the temper line about 0.5 to 1.0 inch above the edge. Again swamprats do not have this problem, because they know how to properly HT a knife and remove all internal stresses. most don't. I know Cliff has seen this type of failure in other knives as I have. You will see it happen on side hits when chopping or batonning. Sometimes throwing as well.

Greens, I've got a good question for the viewers out there!... What type of sheath is it, that you've got for your Howling Rat?!... Because if it's a Mt.Mike or one of Dwaynes or something, that'll make that price tag of $160 look really sweet!!! :)

Regular leather sheath/pouch which came from SRKW. Everyone has seen it I'm sure so I won't bother with a pic. I guess that makes the price less sweet but hey, it's still sweet :D

Speaking of price, all money form this sale will go towards paying off root canal. So, I get my teeth fixed and you get a Busse or a Rat  Can't go wrong!

Gee. You could use one of the remaining knives to help ream that tooth out. At least you'd get some "enjoyment" out of them. ;)

Good luck. I've always had good teef. But my dad has a mouthful o'glass. I feel for ya.

Dang it, I didn't save the prices. I know the Battlerat was $220, but what was the Ratweiler?
