PAUL'S HATCHET PROJECT BLADE
This is one that I started working on a while ago and just haven't found the time to finish it up. What you see in the picture is a standard PH that I'm in the middle of making new Black Paper Micarta handles for. I wanted something that was a bit fatter then the factory slabs and I'm a sucker for Paper Micarta. Blade is still mint. Handles have been rough cut out, drilled and pinned. Sanding to size and profile remains to be done. Being sold as is. $200 SOLD to WM

Hey Slugman, the blade on the Mastiff from the front of the handle to the tip is 9.75" and is .25" thick. A very beefy blade to be sure. Forward weighted for good chopping, but balanced enough for general utility as well. Certainly a great design by the wizards of the swamp. :thumbup:
 
It was $415 over the weekend. I dropped it late last night to $410. It may be splitting hairs, but I'm down at the bottom of what I will let it go for.

I'll give you a rusty ol' Scharade and a can of beeny-weenies for that RD;)

I will say, the Rat Daddy is a fine hunk of steel. Very few made and if I'm not mistaken, just a hair longer than the FBM, albeit not as wide.

If I had the funds, I'd be thinking hard about that RD......

I can't believe the Rat Mastiff hasn't sold. They sold out from the store in what, 2.5 minutes?

Yes, the Daddy is a little bit longer than the FBM and well balanced too. I'm not sure of the production numbers on the Rat Daddy, but there weren't too many made.

I'm not sure if it even took that long. These were introduced at Blade Show '05 and I think they sold all of the ones they brought with them and then quickly sold the remaining batch a couple of weeks later in short order.
