My Camp Tramp arrived via the big brown truck yesterday.

You can view the specs here: http://www.swampratknifeworks.com/specs.html

First of all, I am far from and expert. Stating that, I have never held a large knife that is as comfortable as this. The respirene handle is very comfortable and grips your hand back.

I was stunned at the edge that was on the knife when I received it. I do have some concern that with my limited experience sharpening I will not be able to restore such an edge once it dulls a bit. My plan is to strop it as I use it and preserve the edge as long as possible while I look for a sharpening coach in the area.

On the bright side, I may not have to worry for a while. I knocked an apple sized chunk from a stump with no noticable effect on the edge. In fact my assumption that it would have dulled a bit led to a small slice on my thumb.

The crinkle coat did smooth a bit, but I like the coating.

I know that this is an inadequate review. I am hoping that others will add to it.

I have a dig camera and will post some pics later today. If you have any requests for pics or questions, I will try answer them or respond quickly.

Since I´m desperately waiting for my Camp Tramp to arrive, it would be very nice to get to see a close-up of the handle. I would like to see the texture in detail. It would be very nice if it would be possible for you to take such a pic.

Thanks in advance.

I am getting used to the new camera, so these may not be that great.
Here are three photos of the handle:

I am having trouble on the sizes. i will keep trying to resize and continue posting.

Yes, They were on the back of my F150. You will see more of it and my free bench vice that I picked up..LOL
Here is the hand pic:

I thought pressure treated lumber would be a challenge. I was wrong.

Last one for now. If you think of any other specific shots let me know.

After reading all the coments on the blade, I ordered one. I should recieve it in 3 to 6 weeks. Appreciate the link to the web site. This will probably replace an old John EK MK-5 I have used for years.
