Swamp Rat Custom Knives and Giveaway!

Since this was brought up the other day, thought we could go a little further with it. One might complain, I like so and so knife but the blade is too thick, other than that, I love the knife. Okay, enter the Custom Shop. I have owned several Rat knives and though I liked them, needed something more to the purpose I want to use them for. The RMD Bowie and the Rodent Solution were 2 of those I wanted. The Bowie was offered with Blue scales and the Rodent Solution was coated and with a thick blade profile that I did not care for. I did not care for the choil and wanted that gone also. I wanted thinned downed blades and had to be screaming sharp as they are going to be skinning knives. I emailed Trissy and told her what I wanted and here they are. I hope other's will post their custom's and to motivate you to do so I will give away a free knife lanyard for doing so in 2 week's from today selected at random.

Oh, and I was lucky to order these some days only before they scrapped the Comp finish. The R3 is FFG and now sports some realllllly sexy patina as it sits in my right pocket daily and sees plenty of use.

Thanks for the entry and you brought something to my attention I wanted to talk about and that is cost. The customs I ordered were quite reasonable, not too much over the cost of the factory model. They were quite a bargain IMO!
 
Super, I'm totally with you about the price of what you get.

BUT, I'm North, and North is difficult. To the price, you got to add the shipping, duties, taxes, further delays due to our very own CanadaPost and customs... these kind of annoyances. Wouldn't be that, I wouldn't have a place to sit in my house, it would be covered in SRKW's gems.

Yes indeed, some interesting customs. I wanted my rodent solution after seeing a custom that a guy got at a show. I had no idea at the time a person could get customs.
Post variants also that you get from ganza's as those are usually some awesome knives that are offered. Thanks for posting and keep um coming. :)
 
Recently got pics from my sheathmaking friend, he's working up the sheath and it should be in my hands soon. It started life as a normal gray/blk paper RMD CG, I asked the shop to regrind to FFG, take a bit off the guard, open up the choil a wee bit, recoat the blade black, and install Black G10 slabs. Couldn't be happier with my first custom, and cannot wait to have it in hand.



I cannot recall seeing a RMD Bowie CG Black/Black with G10 before, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I have never seen the RMD Bowie with the black handles.
The Rat 6 with the yellow liners is slick also. Great looking customs, keep um coming :)

Heyday, thank's, I was not the first to make that mod however, is the reason to keep posting the customs so persons new to
the swamp will know they can also have this or that done.
I am always looking to improve and love to see new variants and customs.

Here are some examples and color's . Email or PM me with your preference and style you like. I would love to see the lanyards on the customs after you receive them posted to this thread however, Your choice does not have to go on a Custom Swamprat. You may choose whatever color you desire for whatever knife you would like to use it for. Thank's
