WITHDRAWN... Custom Dog Skinner, 2-tone micarta handle, d2 steel... :eek:

This one has been carried some, but used very little, never sharpened and still very sharp:

here's a shot of the only flaw I can find on the knife -- a small bit of spotting on the left side of the blade. Not sure what it is, but it appears to be pretty minor... just want to make sure it's seen:

Oh man, I have wanted that blade since it first appeared. Bummer in the funds dept. for me, but great for the lucky one to get it. Knice, Knice blade my friend!
 
I'm not looking at it right now, but it's kind of thin...

It's contoured (a little like the busse magnum handles - but way thinner.) I can shoot a pic when i get home. Any particular knife you want me to compare it to? I have a safari skinner or a ratweiler i can put it next to...
 
What RW do you have? One of the new ones with the thin scales?

A measurement and pic would be great.

I am thinking these scales are thicker than the noncustom micarta.

I'm surprised this has lasted this long! Great blade at a great price, barely over original price.

To me, the main difference in this micarta and other Busse/Rat micarta is how smooth these handles are. The palm swells feel good, too. Fantastic knife. :thumbup:

Q: What exactly were you pounding (the D2 knife) into when all the edge damage occured?

A: The face of the hammer! The spine of the knife was placed on the anvil with the edge up. Then the edge was pounded with the face of the hammer. (by a 275 lb Deputy Sheriff for 1 1/2 hrs)
 
Can you tell me the blade specs/measurements on this one. Also, does it come w/a sheath?

I've been really looking at the Busse Satin Jack and Fehrman in the 4.5 - 6" blade sizes... might be a good companion for my Busse HH. :thumbup:

Redsnake, I don't have a sheath for it, never got that far... I carried it some in a makeshift sheath from another knife (that i still have, so i'm gonna keep that sheath.) There are some kydex ones for sale on the swamp rat company store site - not sure if they fit the custom dog skinner, but you could email and ask.

This knife is significantly smaller than a busse Satin Jack... I also have a Desert Jack (swamp rat) for sale that is much closer to the Busse Satin Jack in function, although still slightly smaller than the SJ. It does come w/a kydex sheath -- here's the link:
