This is a “true” prototype. Only about 5 (or so) were made as Swamp Rat Knife Works explored lock strength, clip placement and everything else a maker does with prototypes. I’ve handled many, many prototypes and production models. Many prototypes are a little “shaky” in one or two aspects of manufacture…BUT NOT WITH THIS ONE! It is 100% solid in every mechanical aspect and feels on par with a production model.

Here’s some specs (taken from a promotional description of production model): S30V stainless steel, Rc 58-60, 3.9” blade length, .125” blade thickness, G-10 handles, liner-type lock, and 4.4 oz. weight.

It’s in “near new” condition. It doesn’t look like it has ever been used for cutting and does show some slight signs of having been opened and closed. It comes with no box or sheath...knife only.

This knife is very much my favorite type of knife, so I’m not too interested in parting with it. But I have another goal at the moment, so hard decisions have to be made.

It’s nearly impossible to come up with a realistic price for selling it. I think I heard that a lofty price of $500 was put on the knife (as a “prototype”), but I won’t insult anyone with trying to sell it for that much.

Take this chance to pick up a very rare and desirable knife!

Selling for $350. /// Price Reduced to $315

I can provide more pictures of this knife if you are interested.

To make an offer for purchase or to make an inquiry, please, email me.

The price includes basic insured shipment to US addresses via USPS (if you want it faster, that can be arranged). Payment in money orders only. The knife is to be considered "as is." I do guarantee all my sales to your satisfaction (within reason).

Price reduced to $315!!

Also to sweeten the sale: I'll throw in a modest folding knife or multitool (to be negotiated) from my fairly large collection as a freebie in this deal. Let's say something with an MSRP up to about $80. Condition of items vary, but most are in near new condition.

Ron, an excellent knife at an unbeatable price! I am starting to fold! (no pun intended)

These are RARE! Somebody grab this and save me a divorce...

Awesome photos too!

I wonder if you would be interested in a trade?? I've got a 16 year old son, eats like a horse, leaves his dirty clothes every where, pushes a lawnmower pretty well... JUST KIDDING!! Beautiful knife... excellant pics...wish I could take it off your hands, but I've got kids to feed. Thanks anyway,Marty. :D :D :D

For you, I bet this is quite a tempting scenario...actually, I’d more than “bet” this is “tempting” for you! On the other hand, to follow the trade as you have proposed it, I’d be taking it in the “shorts”! From my vantage, I would be:

  • Losing a dang fine, beautiful, sharp, and rare folding knife

  • [*]Given in trade a gangly, scruffy, emotionally dull, and likely all too common teenage boy; almost certainly, one inclined toward poor hygiene

[*]Roped into the annual loss of tens of thousands of dollars for many years to come on another son

[*]Receiving in my home new interior decor...including creative wall and floor coverings made of the finest materials; such as soiled underwear

[*]Compromising the health of my pet horse, Brownie, by diverting the flow of household food away from her toward my new son

[*]Getting the benefit of a kid who pushes a lawnmower...but then, what’s my pet cow, Bessie, and my pet goat, Billy going to eat in the yard it it's all mowed?
Marty, I know you were willing to sacrifice quite a great deal to acquire this knife, but I’m going to have to respectfully decline your generous offer! I hope you understand! ;)

This knife is still available! :) Things fell through with Marty. ;)

Well, can't blame a guy for trying!!!LOL. I guess I'm stuck with him,but the good part is he's a boy scout, honor roll student, member of the local robotics team, and he has his own knife collection, I guess I'll keep him around. If I sound like a proud Dad it's only because I am!!! Good luck with your sale, thanks for the laughs, Marty. :)

What will it take to sell this fine folding knife? Does anyone have a realistic offer? I'm willing to budge a little more than I have already.
