I got my Desert Satin Rat or Desert Jack or what ever they are calling it. This is what the Ka Bar wishes it was (no offense to Ka Bar lovers, I have had a few)! It feels good in the hand and it is light enough that I think you could easily suffer it on your belt for miles of hiking trails. My initial impression, without having used it yet, was that it may not be the chopper that the Ratwieler or Camp Tramp is, but I bet it will definitely do if you need it. I am looking forward to getting a little time with it this summer, but if a certain HOFSH shows up, it might be SOL. :) Mine was very, very sharp and the fit and finish was flawless. Thanks to Eric and Swamp Rat for another great product!

I am with you Progunner! I love my Desert Jack. Very comfortable in several grip positions. Phenomenol ergonomics :D

Swamp Rat tough as well I am sure. I can't wait to try it out!

Me too... I like the size a lot. I think the handle design is genius. You can grip way back with a lanyard and chop, slide forward to cut and choke-up to do fine detail work. Plus, it doesn't prevent a reverse grip, the way many "finger groove" handles do. The more I play with it, the better I like it.
I just ordered a Spec Ops sheath for it.
