Hi guys, I just got a Harry Carry in a trade in mint condition. I saw a few pics of them a while back and just never got around to buying one. It'll be my first Swamp Rat/ Bussekin blade so needless to say, i'm excited! What are your guys' opinions on the HC? How does it compare to other similarly sized fixed blades? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
UPDATE 5/21: Just got it. Its an amazing knife! Certainly not my last Swamp Rat thats for sure.

Compared to the Izula that came in the same trade (awesome blade as well).

Congrats on the score! I just got my very first Swamp Rat blade in the mail today and brother, is it ever sweet. I'll post some pics in a day or so. Be sure to take some snaps of your new Swamp Rat, too!

lucky lucky! mine should be here tomorrow or the day after, my first one which is the one coming in the mail ( a RMD the solution is next on my list) and the anticipation is killing me!
 
The black canvas scales really feel great, grippy and comfortable. I've a sheath on the way, so it'll be great to mount it on a pack strap and take it out to get some work done on the trail. The Solution has a good weight to it, seems like a very capable and practical tool.

I agree. For a smaller fixed blade, the Solution has quite a heft to it. I just picked up the Solution and a RMD recently. Still needin' to pick up some leather for them though. I'm gonna have Leatherman make me up a matching set!

To the OP: Congrats on the HC! Don't forget pics when it comes in!

Thanks. I should have the HC on Saturday. If you have an HC as well, How would you compare it to the Solution and RMD?

I don't have the HC...yet. They appear to be quite similar though. I think they both fill the small fixed blade role effectively! Just as soon as I get a sheath for the Solution, it will be come my EDC. The RMD is substantially larger and fills the role of medium sized blade, IMO.

Yeah, i'd agree that the RMD fits a different role. Might get one myself eventually depending on how I like the HC. I can't wait for it to get here!

Thanks for the input. Mine is comming with a simple leather storage sheath. Do you think i'd be able to just slip the knife and sheath in my pocket? Or would it be better to get a carry sheath?

I carry my RS in pocket in its kydex and it works great! Give it a try and see if you like it. if not get a belt sheath:thumbup:
 
According to the D.C. #, I should be getting my Harry Carry today...can't wait! pictures to come as soon as it arrives.
 
If you want a leather sheath Armoralleather, chuddy bear and leatherman are all fantasic makers here on the forum. If you want kydex, Buybrown and Azwelke probably have some ready to ship. Just look up either on the forum and email them.

I think leather would look better with this one...Chuddy bear has been recommended to me before so i think i'll contact him. Thanks for the suggestions.
