Folks, I have a carried and loved SWKW Howling Rat for sale, it has been buffed and polished on my edge-pro apex and hair goes screaming off my arm when the edge is presented.

I thought the factory sheath sucked so I had Eric at On/Scene Tactical build two kydex rigs for me, the first is a belt sheath witha removeable belt loop, it can be carried righty/ lefty/ IWB/ OWB and forward/ reverse grip - all your choice.

I also had him build a slip sheath for me - a slip sheath just tucks in the waistband and is the most practical way to carry a sheath for most daily activity - knife just slips in the waistband and body pressure on the sheath holds it in place.

My loss - I just don't care for the knife - not a thing wrong with it and it shows NO signs of use, but my preference for the edge is to dropped slightly lower than the knuckles ala Mad Dog.

Therefore, I am offering to sell the knife. My price is $150, which includes the knife, the two sheaths and fed-ex ground shipping CONUS. Anywhere else add full shipping via Fed Ex.

I don't paypal - I will accept postal money orders or certified/ official bank checks.

I also have a NIB Ontairo RTAK - will ship fed-ex ground for $75 - same shipping and payment stips apply.

Two of them for $210 as a pair.

Please email ParkerWentzel@yahoo.com if interested.

I'm not interested in trades per se, I am looking to scale down at present.

Does anyone have pics of this sheath that "just slips in the pants?"

I sure would appreciate it.

Great deal.

Terry,

Since Parker probably shipped it off already, (nice guy that he is) I'll take a pic when it arrives and send it to you, OK?

Hey, guys, checking BFC before I sidle off for the day -

a slip sheath is a simple piece of folded kydex with no retention at all - the knife just slides in and is loose until the sheath is tucked into the waistband - I can wear a four and a half inch blade like this inside the waistband of REI shorts with the little bitty belt they build into the waistband.

I always put a piece of bike tire inner-tube around the sheath to hold the sheath in place and prevent it from sliding down the pants.

Tension from being pressed up against the body prevents the knife from falling out, and at the same time the draw naturally pulls the knife and edge away from the body - nobody gets cut and the knife is secure.

If I am coing to be running with the blade I will use a retention-equipped IWB or belt sheath instead, but I have carried a fixed blade like this for several years and have never had a problem once I started using the inner-tube.

The slip is also ideal in that you set the angle which is comforatble and practical for you, you set the placement, you can set the knife for easy access while driving under your thigh and then slip it quietly back into your waistband when you exit the car.

Thanks to Shannon at MD Tactical for the pirated use of this photo. I may be able to provide a better one later. If this were mine I would have cut a piece of inner-tube about 2 inches in length and forced it around the sheath to provide for the sheath staying inside the waistband when carried about.
