love the size and pr of the Rodent 9 but that handle definatly throws me off.Is it comfortable? I got average size hands but it just looks like that middle groove would get in the way.

I worried about that too. After working with mine, it is no problem. I have average sized hands.

To be quite honest it does feel rather weird at first, but in handling it a lot its growing on me. Think of it as a modified sub hilt of sorts.

I think Dwayne has it right.

I have medium-sized hands with thick fingers. Works just fine for me.

I have medium sized hands, 5'10" tall/170# with proportional hands, and I find the bump is uncomfortable in "normal" grip. Either choking up or choking back - not sure if this is a real term (index finger in front of the hump and middle finger behind) is very comfortable.

I think this is gonna be a knife that is either loved or hated. I have contemplated grinding the hump off mine, to make it a SR101 SAR9 of sorts....

I have small hands and I reckon the handle is great - it offers mutiple holding methods depending on your hand size.
I had a few doubts when I first held it - now I love it ! ;)

I didn't like it - but my brother in law did. I wish they would offer a variant without that hump or make it a real sub-hilt.

Hi I got a chance to play with one and I will tell you that while I don't care for the handle on the ratweiler, I love the chopweiler though, :).

The rodent nine feels good though. I like it and it fits my med/ fat sausage hand and fingers very well.

Just my 2cents.

The handle is the only reason I haven't jumped on it. Didn't feel great- medium- large hands

Very strange..my friend and I both held the Rodent 9 at the Dayton gun show recently, and he ended up buying one. I have medium hands with short stubby fingers, and he has larger hands. We both thought the handle felt amazingly comfortable. It did look strange, but felt like it melted into the hand. However we haven't tried it in hard use yet. Not sure if it will be any different during hard use.

I Love the feel of he handle weither i choke up or back feels great,,,,,mid/lg hands "" SWAMPRAT I LIKE IT..""

Yeh, I think most people haven't even chopped anything yet with them. It really adds to the versatility to be able to lower your hand for leverage on the bottom-using the bump in the middle. Even when you use it normally, you would have to be king kong not to be able to get a comfy grip. I have big hands-and think its really comfortable. This is no big sar5 handle if that's what your thinking. Think its a top notch chopper for the price.
