Sorry that you had an issue with the tip of your RS. Glad you were able to fix it.

Thanks for posting!

Every knife can be broken, Swamp Rats seem made to extend how much stress a knife can be expected to take. But once something does break, it's good to see that folks still possess the know-how to put their own equipment back into working order.

On a personal note, I would have ground the spine down into the point and left the edge alone, but I have a bias toward drop-point knives.

Not really an issue, just used hard and put away wet :)

Thank you for the kind words. Drop point blades do look good, however, with the tools I had I thought I went for the easier option, might not have been, still took about an hour.

I know I could have sent it to Swamp Rat and they would have fixed it, but as I was looking at the broken tip I remembered my grandfather and how he would laugh at someone sending a knife back for such a minor issue. He use to carry a slipjoint and the tips where the first to suffer, he just went to the stone and did his thing. The bottom one was his German Eye Brand Stockman, all tips were broken, a wonderful knife that I later inherited, it was stolen a few months ago with all my other inherited knives.

Nice work! Sorry to hear about your grandfathers knife. Hopefully the thief will accidentally stab himself in the eye.

On a side note…..since you are from South Africa, have you heard of my favorite band Die Antwoord?

Haha I'm kidding about them being my favorite band. I know they are a joke band. I've seen the guys other stuff before he was in Die Antwoord. Ill have to admit I like a few songs though.

I will raise my hand here and admit that I like a few of there songs as well.
