swamp rats

It makes you wonder how two companies can stay in biz when they go for long periods (to knifeknuts anyway) without selling anything.

Welcome to Bladeforums!

They are filling all back orders before concentrating on the new line, which is the right thing to do when there are people waiting for their blades. Once they are caught up, the new line will be forthcoming. With the new line, they say wait times will drop to 10 days.

Hi guys,

We're not sure how much longer it will be, but in the past these delays have always proven worth it.

BTW, welcome to the Rat Forum Old Painless! :D

Yeah, I'm still waiting for a Ratweiler and a Rat Trap that I ordered way back at the beginning of February.

They sell lots of stuff at shows around the country. Plus, they have two company stores, and there are things like the "Extravaganzaa's" in which to sell their wares.....;)

They should still have a good cash flow because they don't charge your card until they're ready to ship. They've got lots of back orders still on their books so I don't imagine they'll be hurting anytime soon.

The local rats are in such a frenzy that I don't imagine Jennifer and her team will get much rest once the new line is released. Best thing they can do is finish up the old stuff and get a bit of the new stuff in hand before they open the flood gates.

The pent up demand has got to be good for business although it doesn't look like they are really set up to handle it. The old order form promised delivery in 6 weeks but it was a very lucky rat who got his cheeze that quickly.

I would take the 10 day delivery time with a grain of salt.

I ordered the same knives at the same time.

A reliable source told me that the RW's will be here "in the next few weeks."

Does few translate to two, because we know what that means. :D

so i guess if i want to get my handds on a new blade for use this summer i better go ahead and get something else for now huh?
BTW, thanks for the kind welcome!

I wouldn't say that is your only option, but it is definitely an option to consider.

A person watching the secondary market can likely get a hold of most any blade that they are after, it just depends on how active they are at searching for it and how much they are willing to spend. I've found that the person who works hardest to find these blades can typically spend less to get it. The person who works less, pays more.

Then again, when the new line gets released it'll hardly require any work or money at all, but this option has the most unknowns involved.

Good luck in your decision, whatever you choose!

The source was Eric and I think the term "next few weeks" means more than 3 weeks but a lot less than "two weeks," if that makes sense.
