I posted these in the Busse forum, but thought I'd share them with you cheeseheads as well. :D Just a couple Swamp Warden sheaths I made this weekend. I recently started messing around with kydex since I had so many knives I wanted sheaths for. To ship them all would've cost a bundle so I decided to try and make the sheaths myself. Not too bad for a newb kydex huffer. (If I do say so myself ;) ) Obviously one of them is a Fat Warden (the black one in the second picture), but you get the idea. When my CS SAR comes back, she's gonna get a new tan sheath. I think it'll match the tan/spruce G-10 well.

MD, What are you using for a clip to hold to you? Another words, lets see the back.

Right now, just using a small tek-lok, but I'm working on making my own belt loops and IWB hooks.

I'll make them all with spacing for tek-loks, since those seem to be very popular, and just make my own loops with the same hole pattern.

Only pic I have on hand at the moment.

MD13, those are very nice work.

What all do you need to bend kydex like that? Tool wise, that is...

I use a heat gun, and a press that I made. Pretty simple really. There's all different ways of making a press. Some people use the sleep mats you can get a Wal-Mart. I used foam I got from Knife Kits. I used 1/4 steel plates as backing, and have the whole thing mounted in an 8 inch vise. The heat gun is just your run of the mill heat gun. I also use a dremel tool with various attachments, and a belt grinder for the edges.

Edit; Whoops, forgot about the rivets. I don't have the cash right now for an arbor press tool for the rivets, so I'm doing them by hand with an eyelet tool and 4oz. ball pein hammer.

Great sheaths. I'm thinking that if I score a Swamp Warden I need me a kydex sheath to keep things ultra compact. Very nice.

Let me know when you score one, and I'll do you a solid.

Thank you bro. Now I just have to wait for Erik to announce it and then beat the Rats to the cheese (which can be a dangerous endeavor).

:D

MD, that's just nice work. The mini-Tek is a good way to go. Well Done.

That's a lot lower tech than I thought it would be. How about a pic of your setup when you get time?

You'd be surprised. I sure was. :D

Edited to add: I'll take some pics of my stuff tomorrow when I get back to work. I have my stuff there for now, since it's easier for me. And thanks for the kind words RussMo

Here is a couple pics of the sheath I was working on today for my Lep Warden. I have to finish it up tomorrow, but it's pretty much done.

Just got some of Dan's Kydex pants for my Swamp Warden. HOLY COW!! Fits perfect!! I thought you said you were just starting out on this! The one you sent me rivals the quality on some of Kydex I already have right now! The thumb rest works nice for pushing the blade out and the holes are perfectly placed for the small Tek-Lok or for use as a neck sheath for the Swamp Warden.

I will post pics this weekend!! :)

Awesome! Very glad you like it, and I can't wait to see some pictures. I want to see how the olive drab and tan combo looks.

I switched the Mini Tek-Lok to fit horizontally on my belt. Super sweet set up all because of the killer sheath. Perfect fit, great knife retention!!
