Got a few swamp wardens being sheathed right now, so I havent held them in my hand yet.. Those of you with small-medium sized hands, how does the skeleton handles fit you while cutting? Read a few posts that some said the handles were a bit uncomfertable...
Thanks..

I'm 6-4" @ 246, with large hands. I have two of the SW's and lovem. On small knives I usually will hold them sideways. Another words, I have my thumb resting right in the curve of the hilt and the ricasso, blade inwards. It works well for me. I have always used small knives in this manner all my life, due to I'm not stabbing with it, but draw cutting. Pulling the knife thru something using it in this way is really easy, especially with the SR-101. I'm not hacking at a 2X4's with this little bugger, use the Rat Mastiff for that. IMO

Do the spine of these knives work well with firesteels? would that textured finish stuff on the blade effect that at all?

When are the swamp wardens going to be available? the site says they are out of stock.

eric will have to answer that one.im just glad i got mine while the getting was good.

as fat as comfort.its gonna be different with everyone.for me...i wouldt want to do any long term cutting tasks or anything where i had to use force because i feel it digs into my hand a little and i think thats cause of how thin they are.

i wonder if 1/4 inch would be more comfortable.still a kick --- knife and when i get mine back from sheathing it will be my new edc

They come in from the shop and Erick puts them up in the store. The Busse shops will will almost never say how many of any model have been made, how many are still scheduled for production, or exactly when they'll be ready. Here's what Eric posted last time they were available:

A very small number of Wardens and Chopweilers are available. They'll go quickly, but don't worry I have more on the way.

Eric posted that on 11-16-2007 at 12:38 EST, my order completed at 1:14, and at that time, Swamp Wardens were sold out, so they only lasted for about 36 minutes. That's the way it goes with popular models, getting them at the release price is largely a matter of being at the right place at the right time.

I carved my pumpkin this year with the Swamp Warden, lots of detail work there, and it was very comfortable and easy to control. Not hard on the hands at all.

I have seen some of Jeeps other work and it is quite good. He is very shy about telling people though.

I have quite small hands and really like how the warden feels. I wrapped mine with 550 cord but then removed it because I found it to be better without it.
