Hello All, here's my Friday Buck Knives... I got these two sweet 501s at the swap meet a few weeks ago with some other 501s... I don't much about them, but the guy worked for Buck at one time... They need a little cleaning... But not bad for $10 each... I don't know what kind of wood they have for handles...

Sweet pick up. I really like the 501 and would love to get a few but they cost a fortune over here in Oz. The only local place that has one wants $169.95 for them brand new, and the Aussie dollar is pretty much on par with the USD. Madness.

Thanks oz, 169.95 that's a lot for sure... Try Buck knives.com... you can make your own custom 501 for less... ITE
 
Geee some nice options there. Not an area I have explored fully yet. However there doesn't seem to be an option to select a destination country other than the USA when placing an order.

You can e-mail buck and ask them if they ship to oz... Good luck... you can try the bay too... ;)
 
Thanks ITE, I emailed Buck some 36 hours ago. Still no response. Some very nice items on the bay but I'm waiting on a couple of cheap trial runs to see what I can get past Customs before getting too adventurous.
 
Here's a pic of the all the year marks on the blades and part of the handles from all 5 of the 501s I got from the swap meet a few weeks ago...

Thanks OZ, if I find one that I don't need, I'll let you know... Well, my granddaughters come first... I wish I could find them for $10 all the time... He wanted $18 for them but I offer him $10 each if I bought them all... Like they say the more you buy the better the deal... I see them (not like these) some times for $25 and up... The guy worked for Buck a long time ago... He said he has over a 100 knives he wants to sell... Well, I'm still waiting for that phone call... He may never call, that's just the way it is I guess... ITE ...
