Swapping Endure blades & handles

Anyone else done or considered this? I have a waved Endura & a g10 version is on the way. With ZDP189 FFgs & colored handled models due out soon I got to thinking about this. Would the parts mate up perfectly? I assume I'd be transferring the lockbar along with the blade. I have no life & the thought of Frankenstein oddities like a ZDP g10 model or a waved blade on a blue handle make me smile.

I just did scale swap between my ZDP D4 and my D4W. Basically all I did was swap the FRN (scales + backspacer). I kept the liners and all other metal parts with their respective blade. So it's essentially the same knife with different color scales. If you don't do a liner swap or something, for example, then something might end up fitting differently.

Note that you probably won't be able to do a liner swap between FRN and G10, though, since the G10 uses full-length liners as opposed to the nested liners of the FRN models. In that case, I would swap the blades, lockbars, and maybe springs. Maybe not the D-Bolts and torx screws.

Spyderco advises against it and there's no guarantee it will work. A number of people have done it and gotten results they were happy with, but at least one person has reported excessive blade play in both modded knives.

I swapped the blades from my respective FFG/G10 Endura and ZDP-189/FRN Endura and I couldn't be happier with both knives. The ZDP/G10 Endura is a tank, and the FFG VG-10/FRN Endura is almost as light as a regular Delica. I love them both.

Ok. Mixed results. Thanks for the feedback. I suppose I could always put them back to stock configuration if they don't fit right.
