swapping out scales on Manix 2 LW ????

Hi All,

Received my new Maxin 2 LW w/S110V blade. It's my first Manix 2 and really love the look, size etc but the balance point is really a problem for me. It's out in front of the index finger which feels like it might get dropped easier or the blade could get away from me while cutting easily (what ever that means). My EDC has been Sal's Stretch (ZDP-189) for a few years now, which balances almost mid handle which has felt perfect, but I thought I'd give the kid a chance and picked up the Manix.

Anyways, I'd like to try one of the custom scales sold on E-bay or a G-10 production scale to change the point of balance. It doesn't look like taking the pins out of the Manix would be a problem for me but I need to know if I bought new screws and different scales if it would go back together properly?

Thoughts?

The way this works is to buy a g10 manix and put s110v blade in that manix.

Look for posts by Mad_Rookie, he did the blade s110v blade swap with a g-10 model and then put the frn back together with the s30v blade

To do the swap you have to drill out the factory rivets, otherwise you can't get the blade out without damaging the FRN handles. Then putting the blade into the G10 model is easy. Some people have been able to buy aftermarket screws to reassemble the FRN handles with the leftover blade, but apparently the screws are hard to find.

i doubt the G10 scale will make that much differences to tip the balance of the blade that much.
