My standoffs are already swapped, the photos show that it can be done.

XM 18 3.5" Gen 4 shown:

Remove the handle screws, leaving the pivot untouched.
Open the blade (use care from this point on)
Tap the receiver portion of the standoff assembly out of the knife if necessary...(if any seem stuck push them out with the handle portion of the Allen tool or something similar in size)
Remove the standoff (may need to use the Allen wrench to assist in removal)

Put the new standoff in place, adjust it to line it up with the screw hole (can use the Allen tool to help with alignment by placing it into the screw hole and moving the standoff as needed.

Reassemble

Enjoy!

I'll paste a link to this into the thread where the conversation that created this thread began.

Awesome! Looks easy enough. Thank you!! Is it a snug fit to put the Standoffs back in?

Not if you remove them all before reassembly. Logically, the one closest to the pivot is "snug".

Note that if you remove all the pieces, everything moves maybe a bit too freely. I recommend removing two; start with the standoff assembly closest to the pivot. Swap those two then finish with the assembly at the bottom of the handle. Its just easier to keep things organized.

So, with that in mind...do two then the last one. It is way easy to swap these, I do it on all my XMs since I feel steel has no place on my Ti-handled knife besides the blade and hardware (of course).

This is all very strait forward, not complicated. Once you do it once you will understand.
