Hey guys, make sure you check out November's SWAT. One of the best issues so far. Bear's got a good article in wilderness shelters, and Jeff does some reviews on a couple SOGs.

Personally I really dont like sogs, but now I'm looking into getting one of those access cards. (whoops, just saw the price... don't think I like it that much..) Still a great issue.

SOG has always been one of my favorite manufacturers. Used a LOT of their stuff in SA

I keep a sog seal pup in my salt water psk...We bow fish and gig by canoe alot in the marshes....No carbon steel knife can stay in that pack without rusting.....the coated aus8 holds up well....I still put a coating of rem oil on it everytime we go out just to be sure....funny thing is I have used that knife to clean fish with that rem oil on it and I am still alive.....The salintiy here is so bad I can go fishing and by the time i get home my Izula(which goes everywhere with me) will have a coating of oxidation on the non-coated edge.....Of coarse all I do is strop it and it is good to go....

It was a great issue...I find myself anxiously awaiting each new issue.... A great magazine. Well worth a subscription.

the only sog product i have is a multi tool. i like it much better than any gerber or leatherman i've handled, which means about 3. the handles fly open, and the compound action really comes in handy. the knife blade is a little strange to me, but it's sharp. i'm thinking of buying a few replacement blades just to have.

I was just responding to another post and thought about this thread. Wanted to post back up that if there is only one magazine you can subscribe to, and your interests include anything to do with guns, training, outdoor, survival, knives, etc. then it should be SWAT. It's is without doubt the most honest magazine on the news stands. It DOES NOT play to advertisers and the editor/publisher allows its writers to write it as they see it. Rich Lucibella (Publisher) and Denny Hansen (Editor) are two of the most squared away, honorable men I have ever met in my life. I'll back anything they do and stand behind them, regardless. That's just how good they really are. Check it out: www.swatmag.com

I agree.... An honest no BS approach to everything they do. Lots of great contributers, and insightfull articles. Its a breath of fresh air to read a magazine that cares more about the guys using the gear then the companies selling it.
