So, I had a ratmandu for a good long while. Used that baby for everything you can think of on my farm. From processing 600lb hogs to cutting vegetables and fruits to feed to animals. I used it in making kindling and finishing off deer that were still alive but down.

Lots of use. I loved it. But due to unseen financial occurrences I sold it and told myself I'd get another, well I saw a swatmandu yesterday and snagged it. Super excited to get this baby in hand, so if you got some pics to share that'd be great. I do love me some pics of knives in action so especially share those!

Infidu, ratmandu, swatmandu pics all welcome.

Here's my baby! Come on folks, someone has to use a swatmandu!

You're in luck. Old phone back in service after my V10 bootlooped into an early grave...and lo & behold, dis G2 got my old Swattie pic in it. :)

I saw some rats poking about outside today

The big one just came out of the wilderness, looking for mischief

You guys rock :D

Jaxx, OMG those swatmandus are gorgeous! I usually don't like coatings but this is the only swatmandu I could find. I may strip her, I wonder what she looks like under the coating.

I stripped my ratmandu and loved the way it looked.

The Infimandu I got in this week had a great edge from the shop but the tip was slightly rounded and blunt to the naked eye. Here it is after tip repair + burr removal and stropping. Quite nice just over 19 degrees per side and under 1000 grit.

Let me know how your SWATmandu edge is when it comes in. In honor of your thread I would be happy to take it to the next level no charge (if it needs it).

Bought an axe hammer as well :D sweet sharpening job panthera.

A few pics from ye ole bucket... ;) :D

And last, but not least, my SWATs...

Guess what? Something hiding under the G10!!! :D

I REALLY wish I could have found a bead blasted or satin finished swat. But beggars can't be choosers. :foot:

I know what you mean. Alot of people seem to prefer a satin finish I should, but I always liked the glass beaded finish although it creates more of a problem to restore after use.

Shiny, what do you think about Swatmandu compare to Tad Winkler belt knife? How it compare in design, geometry, ergonomic, steel?

This is my Swat btw :D

That is my grail swatmandu! Drooooool.

I haven't had a swatmandu before, only a ratmandu. The winkler is lighter and more balanced in hand due to the tapered tang. It is also full flat ground and cuts extremely well. The ergonomics are top notch and it melts into your hand like it was an extention of your arm. Great knife.

The ratmandu I had was awesome in hand and had a little extra length which I found really handy for cutting hog throats to bleed them. The saber grind doesn't slice as well as the ffg but it split wood like a champ. I also love the full tang extending past the end of the handle so it can pound stuff and be struck with a baton. Both good blades just different.

Oh my goodness I NEED that swatmandu! Thanks for they eye candy!
