I've been thinking about this all day, and hopefully someone can help me figure out what to do. I really like the 25s. REALLY like them. I love small knives, and I've thought about one for quite some time now. However, I find myself using my midtech Companion fixed blade almost constantly and while I've carried it, I have hardly used my pocket knife in the last month. I always carry my TC Barlow, but the past few days I've been carrying the zulu spear that I made a couple years ago. (The house is sold, just waiting on the closing date, so I guess I'm getting nostalgic and sad about not ever being able to make knives in my shop again....)
I saw that GEC was making another run of the 25s and I thought maybe I'd try to snag one this time. I've always loved the pattern and I make it a point to look at the 25 thread every time I stop in, which is weird because I love barlows and never look at the "What makes a good barlow?" thread.
Anyway, I'm to the point in my life where I don't want to spend money on a knife to collect. I've paired down any "collection" to users, although some are too painful to look at, let alone carry. (the super tinker I got with my soon to be ex wife at the first Covered Bridge Festival we went to, the black alox sak I got when we went to Mayo clinic on the day she was diagnosed after years of frustration, the Opinel no 6 Carl gifted me with the admonition that "at the end of every dark road is a field of wild flowers." You get the idea)
If I won't carry a knife, I am not going to buy it. What would you do?
